Staff Software Engineer - InPost Pay

The company builds the largest FMCG e-commerce platform in Poland, offering over 300,000 products from more than 300 sellers, with a mobile app downloaded by almost 1.5 million users in Poland.

• 8+ years of software engineering and product delivery experience, with at least 3+ years as a Senior Individual Contributor (Senior Engineer, Staff Engineer, Tech Lead, Architect or similar).
• Strong background in algorithms and high-performance distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with multiple tech stacks and expertise in Java.
• Seasoned experience in multiple architectures, from Monoliths to Microservices to Serverless.
• Experience in cloud infrastructure technologies, especially GCP and AWS, including past experiences with cloud migration.
• Experience in the e-commerce domain.
• Very good command of English (spoken and written).
• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and large language models (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance productivity, accelerate development, and solve complex problems.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and apply them responsibly within professional workflows.
• Openness to working in a hybrid model from Kraków or Warsaw office once a week is required.

Microservices Architecture:

• Drive the design and implementation of microservices architecture.
• Define best practices, standards, and guidelines for microservices development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with software development teams to design and build scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant microservices.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to development teams in adopting best patterns and practices.

Technical Leadership:

• Act as a subject matter expert on e-commerce platform architecture and related technologies.
• Lead and participate in architectural reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Shape a vision for the technical development of the entire domain.
• Collaborate with representatives from multiple domains to jointly develop the technical development vision.
• Propose and consistently implement agreed solutions.
• Engage actively in system design and hands-on tasks, including coding and incident management.
• Stay updated with latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to cloud computing, microservice architecture, and DevOps.
• Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams, including developers and infrastructure engineers.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders including business units, Product Owners, and Project Managers to align technical solutions with business requirements.
• Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Work closely with global teams fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Openness to working in a hybrid model from Kraków or Warsaw office once a week is required.
