Data Engineer (Insurance) | f/m/d​

The role involves collaborating with Munich Re Global Specialty Insurance, a leading provider of specialty insurance solutions, focusing on data-driven decision-making and AI to support Underwriting and Claims Excellence.

• Fluency in English is a must
• Bachelor’s degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Math or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1-3 years of experience with data modeling, data intake, and data-curation procedures
• Experience in the insurance industry
• Expert SQL skills including experience with Databricks Unity Catalog
• 2+ years of hands-on Python experience
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
• Experience integrating GenAI into data/analytics workflows: RAG, vector databases/embeddings, semantic search, or document ingestion pipelines
• Drive and dedication, as well as creativity and hands-on attitude
• Strong oral and written communication in English and good interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

• Executing projects to provide actionable data assets
• Preparing structured and unstructured data for analysis and BI reporting
• Working with data from multiple sources, at various levels of complexity and granularity to deliver high-quality data
• Developing dashboards using Power BI that enable data-driven decision-making
• Leveraging GenAI for information extraction, data harmonization and quality assurance
• Being part of a global community of Data Analytics and AI experts, shaping the future of the insurance industry
