Principal Engineer – Physical Design & Structural Integrity (m/f)

Airbus is launching a Commercial Aircraft Engineering Centre in Poland to leverage local talent and support engineering workload, focusing on propulsion systems. The role is based in the Kraków Center and involves leadership in mechanical and structural engineering disciplines.

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft certification processes, specifically structural substantiation under EASA/Airbus CS-25.
• Expert-level knowledge of aerospace CAD systems (e.g., CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE).
• Expert-level knowledge of CAE/FEA solvers (e.g., NASTRAN, PATRAN, Abaqus, ANSYS).
• Over 10 years of technical experience in aerospace mechanical design and structural analysis (Static & Fatigue and Damage Tolerance).
• Prior experience with aero-engine manufacturers (e.g., Safran, Rolls-Royce, GE Aviation, Pratt & Whitney, MTU) preferred.
• Strong mentoring, coaching, and knowledge transfer skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Autonomy, team spirit, and ability to guide engineers in a high-technical environment.
• Good communication and listening skills for interaction with Technical Operations leader and global experts.

Technical Leadership & CS-25 Compliance:

• Act as the primary Technical Checker/Approver of engineering Center deliverables before DOA certification.
• Validate static and dynamic stress reports.
• Validate complex Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and hand calculations.
• Validate Fatigue and Damage Tolerance assessments.
• Validate 3D physical design.
• Validate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) strategies and kinematic studies.
• Validate lifing studies.
• Work closely with Technical Operations leader to generate technical artifacts for Airbus CS-25 compliance.
• Lead complex technical investigations and root-cause analyses for design non-conformances or physical testing failures.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers in aerospace design principles and stress methodologies.
