Senior PHP Engineer with AI / LLM

We are looking for a Senior PHP Engineer with AI / LLM to join a team building modern backend systems and AI-powered product features. This role is a good fit for someone who has strong PHP experience, enjoys working on scalable backend architecture, and wants to use AI tools such as LLMs, OpenAI API or Claude in real product development.

• Strong commercial experience as a PHP Backend Engineer / Senior PHP Developer
• Very good knowledge of PHP 8+ and modern backend development practices
• Experience with frameworks such as Symfony and/or Laravel
• Good understanding of REST APIs, integrations and backend architecture
• Experience with relational databases, especially MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with Redis, queues, messaging or background processing
• Practical interest or hands-on experience with AI / LLM tools, such as OpenAI API, Claude, GitHub Copilot, prompt engineering or AI automation
• English at a level allowing daily technical communication

Nice to have:

• Experience with TypeScript / JavaScript / NestJS
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of RabbitMQ, Kafka or Symfony Messenger
• Understanding of software security topics such as OAuth2, JWT and input validation
• Experience with architectural approaches such as DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing or Hexagonal Architecture

• Designing and developing backend services using PHP and modern backend frameworks
• Building and maintaining REST APIs, integrations and business logic for production systems
• Working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch
• Supporting the development of AI-powered features using LLMs, OpenAI API, Claude or similar tools
• Working on AI automation, prompt engineering and backend integrations with AI services
• Improving application architecture, scalability, maintainability and performance
• Collaborating with product, engineering and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Taking ownership of technical decisions and supporting less experienced developers when needed
• Participating in code reviews, technical discussions and delivery planning
