Software Engineering Manager II, YouTube Ads Infrastructure

Google Ads is a division that builds advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel, and video advertising, as well as analytics. The teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads, helping grow businesses of all sizes and enabling Google to engage with customers at scale.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership.
• Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Preferred: 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

• Develop and communicate the technical roadmap for scaling the Design System and integrating AI.
• Lead a team of Software Engineers responsible for core infrastructure, including coaching and career development.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with YouTube Ads business vertical and cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment.
• Architect and vet systems within the core infrastructure scope.
• Review code and system designs for technical quality and personally solve highly ambiguous problems.
