Staff Software Engineer, Vertex AI, Workbench

Google Cloud's ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization designs, implements, and manages hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for Google services and Google Cloud. The team focuses on security, efficiency, and reliability, supporting products like Google Cloud's Vertex AI, a leading AI platform for enterprise customers.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with backend infrastructure and distributed systems development.
• 5 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, Golang, Python, or Typescript.
• Preferred: Master's or PhD degree or further education in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Preferred: 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Preferred: Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Preferred: Experience in a technical leadership role.
• Familiarity with Google's production environment or Google Cloud is required.

• Communicate effectively across teams, driving alignment with product and client teams.
• Lead the technical execution for major product initiatives, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
• Develop the technical direction and roadmap for the broader team.
• Design and implement developer tools and platforms for Vertex AI and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) customers.
• Balance product thinking, development, and continuous delivery.
