Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Cloud

Google Cloud delivers enterprise-grade solutions leveraging cutting-edge technology to help developers build sustainably. The team focuses on providing highly performant, scalable, and reliable mission-critical services, including the Cloud Domain Name System product, to support Google Kubernetes Engine users and AI use cases.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 2 years of software development experience in Java or Go, or 1 year with an advanced degree in an industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience in networking protocols, networking, large-scale distributed systems, Cloud, and Cloud networking.
• Experience with large distributed systems performance analysis and optimization.

• Work on evolving the Cloud Domain Name System product to become default for Google Kubernetes Engine and adapt Cloud features for AI requirements.
• Support Cloud Domains, the domain registration service in Google Cloud Platform.
• Build new features and lead the design process, driving implementation in Go, C++, or Java, either directly or by leading other developers.
• Communicate and coordinate with product management, program management, and partner engineering teams.
• Grow and evolve existing infrastructure.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate launch processes.
• Lead the rollout of features into production, overseeing the launch process.
• Evolve long-term strategy and provide input to the continual evolution of the platform and strategy.
