Senior Engineering Manager

The role involves working on merchant-facing SaaS platform products with a tech stack including React, TypeScript, Python, Django, and PostgreSQL.

• 3+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers or tech leads.
• Strong technical background in modern web development with React, TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience with micro frontend architectures or large-scale frontend platform teams.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven track record of building, retaining, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Highly organized with ability to bring structure to ambiguity.
• Experience with agentic software development patterns, spec-driven development, and AI-driven workflows.

Nice to have:

• Experience with single-spa or similar micro frontend frameworks.
• Familiarity with Django and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Vite, Vitest, and Playwright for build and testing.
• Background in merchant-facing or SaaS platform products.
• Experience managing distributed or hybrid teams.
• Familiarity with internationalization/localization in web applications.

Leadership & People Management:

• Directly manage 5 engineers and 1 Engineering Manager.
• Coach, mentor, and grow engineers across various seniority levels.
• Own hiring, performance management, career development, and team health.
• Foster a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.

Technical Direction:

• Guide technical strategy for micro frontend architecture using single-spa, React, TypeScript, and Vite.
• Oversee Python/Django backend and PostgreSQL database.
• Drive architectural decisions across repositories and services.
• Review architecture proposals and unblock engineers.
• Champion engineering best practices including testing, CI/CD, code quality, and observability.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

• Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to align on roadmap priorities.
• Communicate team progress, risks, and technical decisions to leadership and organization.
• Translate business goals into actionable engineering plans.
• Represent the Merchant Dashboard team in planning and coordination.

Execution & Organization:

• Drive planning, prioritization, and delivery across teams.
• Maintain organizational rigor with clear goals, groomed backlogs, and status reporting.
• Identify and mitigate risks; remove blockers.
• Balance technical debt reduction with feature delivery.
