Staff Software Engineer, GKE Networking

Google Cloud provides enterprise-grade solutions leveraging cutting-edge technology to help developers build sustainably. The Kubernetes Networking team builds networking solutions and abstractions for Kubernetes environments, focusing on features like IPAM, gateway, unified network policies, and multi-NIC solutions for container workloads.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development with data structures/algorithms in C++, Go, or Java.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 5 years of experience in Network Infrastructure.
• Experience with Kubernetes.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

• Own and lead the architectural planning, evolution, and deliverables for GKE networking features and capabilities.
• Plan the strategy, execution, and deliverables for GKE development efforts in networking virtualization solutions.
• Lead the design and development of network connectivity, security, and services solutions, including data plane and control plane elements.
• Lead the design and development of network virtualization solutions for container workloads on Kubernetes platforms.
• Help external GKE customers who encounter issues in production clusters.
