Platform DevOps Engineer (K/M)

cyber_Folks is building a new SaaS platform for a broad segment of clients. The project is based on Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Apache Iceberg, and Schema Registry.

• Experience as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, SRE, or similar role, preferably with large-scale production systems.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with Kubernetes, including design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of container environments.
• Practical experience with GitOps, preferably in a GitLab environment using ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Familiarity with configuration and deployment tools for Kubernetes such as Helm, Kustomize, or operators.
• Experience designing and automating infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and ability to design secure, repeatable, and automated deployments.
• Practical knowledge of Linux, networking, storage, and application operation in distributed environments.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK, or OpenSearch.
• Understanding of container environment security, including RBAC, network policies, secret management, and access control.
• Practical experience with Apache Kafka or similar event streaming systems, including configuration, monitoring, or maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose performance and stability issues in production environments.
• Self-reliant, responsible, and comfortable working on a project built from the ground up.
• Ability to collaborate with development teams and translate their needs into platform solutions.

Nice to have:

• Experience building SaaS platforms, internal developer platforms, or self-service solutions for development teams.
• Knowledge of service mesh tools like Istio or Linkerd for secure and controlled communication in Kubernetes.
• Experience designing high-availability environments and large-scale systems.
• Programming or automation scripting skills in Go, Python, or Bash.
• Familiarity with SRE practices related to reliability measurement, availability goals, error budgets, and incident management.
• Experience with supply chain security, such as container image scanning, artifact signing, or deployment admission policies.
• Knowledge of secret management tools like Vault or External Secrets Operator.

• Designing, building, and developing Kubernetes environments for the new SaaS platform.
• Creating and maintaining development, test, staging, and production environments.
• Designing deployment processes and automating application and platform component deployments.
• Developing GitOps approaches in a GitLab-based environment using tools like ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Creating and maintaining application and infrastructure configurations using Helm, Kustomize, or Kubernetes operators.
• Participating in the design and maintenance of platform components such as Apache Kafka, Schema Registry, and data ecosystem elements.
• Building monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability mechanisms for production environments.
• Designing security solutions for container environments, including access, secrets, and service separation.
• Collaborating with development teams to define deployment, configuration, and maintenance standards.
• Diagnosing performance, stability, and infrastructure issues in distributed environments.
• Improving daily team workflows through automation of repetitive processes.
• Participating in architectural decisions regarding platform scalability, reliability, and maintenance.
