Senior Data Transformation Engineering Lead – Banking Sector

Our client is a leader in the banking sector dedicated to transforming financial services through cutting-edge data solutions.

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on data transformation design, maintenance, and control.
• Proven leadership experience in software delivery within complex projects.
• Demonstrated expertise translating high-level business requirements into robust data designs.
• Strong experience working with banking data, data warehouses, and migration projects.
• Hands-on experience with ETL solutions such as Datastage, Informatica, or Talend.
• Advanced coding skills in GCP, Oracle, Python, Spark, and shell scripting.
• Solid understanding of data mapping, business-driven data transformation logic, and documentation.

Nice to have:

• Certifications or experience in Data Warehousing or Data Migration projects.

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of data transformation initiatives for HBCE, managing a team of 3 to 10 ETL/ELT engineers.
• Ensure a consistent and innovative delivery roadmap across multiple business products and use cases on both On-Prem Prophecy and GCP Data Platform.
• Handle resource planning, prioritization, and management to meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Business and BA teams to ensure requirements are clear, documented, and aligned with technical dependencies.
• Review, sign off, and validate functional requirements and detailed data specifications.
• Enforce best practices in ETL design principles, including CDC, data duplication, and regulatory retention.
• Implement and document the transverse HBCE Data Model in liaison with Data Architects and Product Owners.
• Maintain all data processes, including incoming files, data assets, outputs, schedulers, and lineage.
• Proactively manage technology risks, controls, and operational incidents related to RTB processes.
