Lead Software Engineer

Andersen is a company cooperating with clients such as Siemens, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, BNP Paribas, Allianz, Ryanair, TUI, Verivox, and Media Markt. The project involves developing healthcare technology solutions to improve operational efficiency, collaboration, and clinical workflows by enhancing a healthcare workflow platform integrating operating room scheduling data from hospital systems.

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript for 7+ years.
• Proven experience as a Lead Engineer or owning complex backend domains.
• Strong expertise in system design, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
• Practical knowledge of the NestJS framework.
• Solid experience with AWS Serverless technologies such as Lambda and API Gateway.
• Experience with NoSQL databases like DocumentDB or DynamoDB.
• Experience delivering and scaling production-critical systems.
• Strong ownership mentality with accountability for reliability and performance.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical alignment.
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and lead initiatives independently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact directly with stakeholders.
• English language proficiency from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice to have:

• Experience with DynamoDB.
• Exposure to HL7 or healthcare data standards.
• Background in healthcare or medtech domain.

• Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs within a distributed cloud architecture.
• Owning the technical vision and direction of backend services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Leading architecture and design decisions aligned with platform goals and clinical constraints.
• Integrating HL7-based hospital schedule feeds into the Incision platform.
• Ensuring high availability, performance, and data consistency in real-time clinical environments.
• Taking full end-to-end ownership of services in production including monitoring, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, and improvements.
• Driving engineering excellence by establishing best practices, coding standards, and review processes.
• Leading code reviews and technical discussions, setting quality benchmarks across the team.
• Mentoring and supporting engineers, providing technical guidance and feedback.
• Acting as a primary technical interface with Incision stakeholders.
• Translating business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions and execution plans.
• Proactively identifying risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies, and driving mitigation strategies.
• Balancing hands-on contribution with leadership responsibilities in an embedded team setup.
• Contributing to long-term platform evolution and architectural roadmap.
