Site Reliability Engineer

AVENGA is an international company seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Site Reliability squad. The role involves working on improving software availability, latency, performance, and efficiency on the platform.

• Passionate software engineer skilled in building and maintaining Java microservices with a focus on operational performance
• Experience running Java-based microservices including database queries, measuring, debugging, and improving service performance
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers to understand and resolve operational challenges
• Willingness to provide training and develop other engineers

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms
• Experience driving adoption of modern observability patterns and tooling
• Experience working with message-driven architectures and event sourcing

• Improve availability, latency, performance, and efficiency of software on the platform
• Split time evenly between writing code and collaborating with product-aligned squads
• Create functionality to enable product squads to run their services and meet defined engineering standards (e.g., logging)
• Suggest performance improvements for running microservices, including more efficient database queries and reducing response and processing times
• Provide training on microservice performance, running mock incidents, and game days

Two days per month in the Warsaw office are required
