Oracle / Unix Infrastructure Lead

Verita HR is an international company providing recruitment support within the Fintech, Finance, and Banking market in EMEA. The role is for a lead position at a major international bank, focusing on infrastructure engineering including Database Administration and Unix/Linux Systems Administration.

• 3+ years leading engineers/technical specialists and providing technical direction in an enterprise environment
• Proven experience transforming a team into a high-performing function
• Strong DBA skills with Oracle and PostgreSQL and/or Unix/Linux skills
• Experience maintaining highly available, low-latency systems in regulated industries (preferably banking, fintech, or insurance)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including performance troubleshooting, stability, capacity, and incident analysis
• Working experience in Agile methodologies
• Ability to work independently and within a diverse team environment

• Lead the Infrastructure (DBA + Unix/Linux) team delivering operational and engineering outcomes for critical services and vendor platforms
• Own team delivery end-to-end: demand intake, prioritisation, execution, and reporting
• Drive improvements in monitoring/alerting and performance across infrastructure and databases
• Establish and uphold engineering and operational standards including documentation, peer review, quality controls, runbooks, and change practices
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to build capability and uplift engineers into a high-performing infrastructure function

B2B contract. Hybrid work: 2 days per week from the office in Kraków. Recruitment process includes phone screen, technical test, and online meetings with hiring managers.
