Senior Test Engineer with German (Java, TypeScript)

Sopra Steria is one of the largest players in the tech industry in Europe, known for its consulting, digital services and software development. The Polish branch operates in Katowice since 2007 as the Global Delivery Center with around 1,000 specialists. The Digital Platform Services department specializes in cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup, storage, networking, and security. The Application Services department handles software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM, ERP platform integrations, and application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK.

• Practical experience in design, implementation and maintenance of test automation frameworks
• Very good knowledge of quality management and software management standards (ISTQB, ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119)
• Very good knowledge of Java and TypeScript for test automation
• Practical experience with load and performance testing tools, especially Apache JMeter and Azure Load Testing
• Very good knowledge of test automation platforms (e.g. Katalon Studio, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
• Very good knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Bash, PowerShell) for integration into build and deployment pipelines
• Experience integrating automated tests into build and deployment processes including CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration, particularly Kubernetes
• EU citizenship
• Fluent English (B2/C1)
• Fluent German (B2/C1)
• Openness to occasional business trips abroad and visits to the Katowice office

Nice to have:

• Very good knowledge of regression test strategies and structured test data management
• Extensive experience preparing and operationalizing test strategies, plans and concepts
• Practical experience with agile methods, especially Scrum, integrated with testing activities
• Knowledge of defining and preparing test evaluations through metrics and KPIs

• Design, implement and continuously optimize test automation frameworks for business-critical applications
• Develop, maintain and execute automated functional, regression, integration and smoke tests
• Plan, design and execute load and performance tests using tools such as Apache JMeter and Azure Load Testing
• Integrate automated tests into build, deployment and CI/CD pipelines ensuring stable, repeatable test execution
• Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans and test concepts aligned with standards like ISTQB, ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119
• Define and implement metrics and KPIs to measure and improve test coverage, defect detection and product quality
• Manage test data and provision controlled test environments including containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes in a DevSecOps context
• Collaborate within an agile (Scrum-based) team in close coordination with the client
