Senior Devops Engineer

Client is one of the global leaders in maritime transport - especially container transport. They currently operate a fleet of over 250 modern container ships that serve customers all over the world, connect more than 600 ports and transport several million containers annually. Client's IT department is responsible for developing and maintaining internal IT systems for planning, monitoring and accounting for the company's core business. The department operates globally within offices in various parts of the world, including the Gdańsk office established in 2020.

• Strong hands-on AWS experience (EC2, ALB, IAM, VPC, ECR, SSM Parameter Store, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, S3, KMS, ACM, Auto Scaling, SES, WAF, OpenSearch)
• Practical experience with multi-environment releases on AWS, and GitLab Runner autoscaling and build infrastructure
• Solid Docker and containerization knowledge
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience
• Practical GitLab CI/CD experience including pipeline design
• Knowledge of Datadog, CloudWatch, monitoring, alerting, and log analysis
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of platform security and access management
• Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams

Nice to have:

• CloudFormation experience (hybrid environment)
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry
• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch operations
• Experience with AWS WAF administration and monitoring
• AWS cost optimization experience
• Synthetic monitoring and RUM experience
• Experience with JVM-based web applications
• Incident response, root cause analysis, and operational excellence practices

• Design and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform
• Build, optimize, and support Docker-based deployments
• Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Manage GitLab runners and build infrastructure
• Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and production issues
• Ensure platform security through IAM and least-privilege practices
• Support platform reliability, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives
