Software Engineer III, Pixel Graphics

Google is a global technology company working on next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The role is within Pixel's Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) driver team, responsible for both kernel GPU drivers and user-space graphics driver stack in Pixel products. The Platforms and Devices team works across computing software platforms and Google first-party devices, combining AI, software, and hardware.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in low level systems programming languages such as C++ or C.
• 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
• Experience writing low-level graphics Application Programming Interface (API) code.

Nice to have:

• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms in academic or industry settings.
• Experience analyzing GPU-accelerated applications such as games or image processing.
• Experience contributing to graphics drivers and knowledge of OpenGL ES, Vulkan, or OpenCL APIs.

• Develop Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) graphics and compute technologies spanning the full GPU software stack.
• Seek general solutions to problems, minimizing application or device-specific workarounds to serve users of all Pixel devices.
• Help evaluate and bring-up devices and work with product and engineering teams to define the GPU's role and requirements in future products.
• Debug sophisticated user mode and kernel mode problems.
