Software Engineer II, Fitbit Subscription Experience

Google's Platforms and Devices team develops computing software platforms across multiple environments and first party devices, combining AI, software, and hardware to create innovative user experiences worldwide.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of software development experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Preferred: Experience with highly scalable, database-backed, distributed systems.

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable and reliable backend services and APIs for Fitbit premium features.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, iOS/Android Mobile Engineers, and feature teams to define requirements and API specifications.
• Conceptualize and implement backend solutions including AI-powered experiences such as the personalized health agent.
• Analyze challenges, propose innovative solutions, and contribute to technical discussions and design reviews.
