Backend Developer (Java) in Poland

The customer is a European digital healthcare company providing technology-enabled medical services through an online platform. The organization focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and user-centric healthcare solutions, supporting the digital transformation of healthcare services. The project involves developing a digital healthcare platform for secure online medical consultations and prescription services, enhancing patient experience and telemedicine capabilities.

• 3+ years of backend development experience.
• Previous experience with Java 1.8+, Spring Boot, and MySQL.
• Experience with cloud environments such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Writing integration tests (e.g. Cucumber) and understanding behaviour-driven development (BDD) principles.
• Familiarity with microservice architecture.
• Understanding of DevOps CI/CD methodologies, working with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of software development best practices such as SOLID, ACID, and OO design principles.
• English language proficiency from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice to have:

• Experience with frontend React in full stack implementations.
• Working within an Agile environment.
• Experience integrating with e-commerce platforms like Shopify.
• Experience with GoLang.

• Act as a hands-on Java developer contributing to design, build, testing, and rollout of new medical services at scale.
• Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing services to reflect clinical innovation, regulatory changes, and new medicines.
• Work within a microservices-based architecture applying software design principles (SOLID, ACID, object-oriented design).
• Collaborate closely with product owners and stakeholders balancing commercial considerations with technical quality.
• Engage with technologies including clinical algorithms and cloud platforms such as GCP.
• Contribute actively to team discussions, sharing ideas and supporting collaborative problem-solving.
• Understand business constraints and negotiate trade-offs with delivery teams to achieve goals.
• Ensure each development increment delivers clear business value and supports competitive advantage.
