Senior Software Engineer, BigLake Federation

Google Cloud develops next-generation technologies for billions of users, focusing on areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile. The role involves working on a team responsible for data and metadata federation, expanding BigLake to other clouds like AWS and Azure, and partners including SAP and Salesforce. Google Cloud provides enterprise-grade solutions to help organizations digitally transform their business and industry globally.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• Experience in open source technologies and Apache Spark.
• Experience working with partners like SAP, Salesforce, or cloud providers.
• Experience with distributed computing, big data analytics, cloud computing, multi-tenant cloud, or AI.

• Be responsible for all data and metadata federation aspects and expand BigLake to other clouds, hyperscalers, and partners like SAP and Salesforce.
• Create a compelling cross cloud data analytics product, working with senior SWE and PM leads.
• Influence the roadmap, work with customers and partners, and help with building a strong culture of operational excellence within this new team.
