Junior Software Developer

Ericsson is a company operating in the telecommunication industry with projects related to 4G, 5G, and 6G technologies. The role involves working with CloudStudio Kubernetes workloads and developer tooling within internal clusters and in collaboration with multiple teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic hands-on experience with Kubernetes concepts including pods, deployments, services, and namespaces.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and/or other modern languages like Python or Go used in tooling and service development.
• Familiarity with YAML-based configuration for Kubernetes manifests, CI/CD pipelines, and development container configurations.
• Comfortable with Linux development environments and command line tooling.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and deployment pipelines.
• Good problem-solving skills and practical debugging mindset.
• Strong willingness to learn and grow in platform engineering, developer experience, and security practices.
• Good communication skills for collaboration in an international, distributed team.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes in production or pre-production environments, including cluster usage, resource management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with development container setups such as VS Code devcontainers and remote development environments.
• Experience with observability stacks like OpenSearch/ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, and centralized logging solutions like CLaaS.
• Experience with security and compliance aspects of developer platforms, including SSDF work.
• Prior contributions to inner source or open source projects.

• Contribute to design, implementation, and maintenance of CloudStudio Kubernetes workloads including manifests, deployments, services, ingress, and configuration in internal clusters.
• Develop, configure, and maintain containerized development workspaces using Docker images and VS Code/CodeOSS based environments.
• Implement and refine infrastructure as code and configuration using YAML, Helm charts, and pipelines for CloudStudio components and services.
• Support logging, observability, and reliability for CloudStudio services including integration with centralized logging and quota management.
• Participate in backlog refinement and implement new CloudStudio capabilities and compliance work such as SSDF requirements in collaboration with senior engineers.
• Investigate and resolve issues in development workspaces with users and support teams.
• Contribute to documentation, operational playbooks, and onboarding materials for CloudStudio users and services.
• Collaborate closely with other Developer Services teams to ensure compatibility of CloudStudio within the BNEW Service Ecosystem.
• Actively learn from senior engineers and participate in code reviews, design discussions, and initiatives improving developer experience, security, and reliability.
