Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Shiji Group provides software solutions and services for the hospitality, food service, retail, and entertainment industries, including hotel management, food and beverage, retail systems, payment gateways, data management, and online distribution. Founded in 1998, it comprises 5,000 employees across 80+ subsidiaries and brands, serving over 91,000 hotels, 200,000 restaurants, and 600,000 retail outlets globally. The team develops infrastructure hosting a microservices-based application on AWS using technologies like AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, Elasticsearch, Kafka, PostgreSQL, VictoriaMetrics, GitLab, and Nexus.

• Minimum 1 year of commercial experience in a similar position
• Experience managing and troubleshooting GNU/Linux operating systems
• Experience with Docker and docker-compose
• Basic networking skills
• Basic programming skills in Bash or Python
• Basic knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda) or similar cloud platforms

Nice to have:

• Experience with CI/CD processes using GitLab

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure for a microservices-based application on AWS
• Manage infrastructure architecture and technology selection within the team
• Support local developer environments using Docker and docker-compose
• Develop deployment solutions for Kubernetes
• Automate jobs using GitLab CI
• Build environments in AWS using Terraform and Terragrunt
• Create libraries, tools, and AWS Lambdas in Python
• Create Docker images for automation and internal usage
• Use "Everything as Code" philosophy
• Use task management with Kanban and Jira
• Collaborate using MS Teams and participate in meetings

Candidates must be based in the Silesia region (office in Katowice). Fully remote work is not an option, and applications from more distant locations will not be considered.
