Staff Software Engineer, GKE Networking

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry by delivering enterprise-grade solutions leveraging cutting-edge technology. The Kubernetes Networking team builds networking solutions and abstractions for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) environments, collaborating with partners and customers to integrate and validate solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development with data structures and algorithms in C++, Go, or Java.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products; 3 years in software design and architecture.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 5 years of experience in network infrastructure.
• Experience with Kubernetes.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3 years of technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in complex, matrixed organizations with cross-functional or cross-business projects.

• Own and lead the architectural planning, evolution, and deliverables for GKE networking features and capabilities.
• Plan the strategy, execution, and deliverables for GKE development efforts in networking virtualization solutions.
• Lead the design and development of network connectivity, security, and services solutions, including data plane and control plane elements.
• Lead the design and development of network virtualization solutions for container workloads on Kubernetes platforms.
• Lead the design and implementation of new networking features for GKE platforms.
• Help external GKE customers who encounter issues in production clusters.
