Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, GenAI, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is leading the AI revolution for businesses worldwide, providing advanced AI technology including Gemini models and the Vertex AI platform. The role involves embedding engineers within customer environments to deploy AI systems and provide critical feedback to shape Google Cloud's future products.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8 years experience building and shipping AI-driven production solutions using Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Experience leading technical discovery with business and engineering teams to define AI and hardware infrastructure requirements.
• Experience designing and building AI systems on cloud platforms, e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience building data pipelines for structured/unstructured data including vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in AI, Computer Science, or related.
• Experience implementing multi-agent systems with frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, or Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK).
• Knowledge of large language model metrics (tokens/sec, cost-per-request) and optimization techniques for state management and tracing.

• Serve as the lead developer for AI applications, transitioning rapid prototypes to production-grade multi-agent and agentic workflows.
• Architect and code integration between Google AI products and customer infrastructure, including APIs, legacy data silos, and security perimeters.
• Build high-performance evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks ensuring accuracy, safety, and latency requirements.
• Identify field patterns and technical friction in Google's AI stack, converting them into reusable modules or product feature requests.
• Mentor talent, co-build with customer teams, and influence cross-functional strategies to enhance organizational technical capabilities.
