Staff Software Engineer in Test - mobile (m/f/n)

Must-have:

• Strong experience automating mobile app tests natively (iOS or Android, ideally both) with working-level Swift and/or Kotlin.
• Proven track record designing test strategy and the test pyramid.
• Proven shift-left experience, entering the process before coding to influence outcomes.
• Experience leading technical/process change and working directly with development teams.
• Experience introducing mock-based testing, setting standards, and education.
• Demonstrated impact beyond a single team with standards set for multiple teams or cross-team initiatives.
• Hands-on, critical relationship with AI, using and assessing its risks.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have:

• Fluency in Polish.
• Experience with BrowserStack and CI/CD (GitLab).
• Experience with snapshot testing (e.g., swift-snapshot-testing, Paparazzi).
• Familiarity with Appium.
• Experience applying AI in testing workflows.
• Experience in logistics or e-commerce.
• ISTQB Advanced Level - Test Automation Engineer certification.

I. Test strategy & native automation:

• Design and own the test strategy across mobile teams for native iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin) apps.
• Set strategy for device and OS-version fragmentation coverage and drive flakiness control at scale using suites on BrowserStack with GitLab CI.
• Maintain the backend/API/contract layer strong and connect it to mobile client layer.
• Own quality gates inside app release and store-deployment pipelines and drive resolution of cross-team quality issues.

II. Coaching, culture & technical leadership:

• Pair on testability and shift quality ownership left into the dev workflow.
• Mentor Senior Software Engineers in Test and provide technical guidance across the domain.
• Run knowledge-sharing across QA and Dev through tech talks, workshops, documentation, and pair sessions; co-lead the OneTech/QA community.
• Co-shape domain's technical quality direction with SEM with full autonomy.
• Define quality metrics and gates and use them to frame quality risk in business terms for managers.

III. AI Governance in testing:

• Define AI adoption approach for quality engineering including tools and workflows.
• Design AI-assisted testing workflows and set governance and data-security standards.
• Assess and manage risk of AI usage in testing, including production-facing work.
• Mentor engineers on responsible, effective AI use and report on AI ROI for quality engineering.
