Network Security Engineer

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience designing and managing enterprise-grade Firewall environments (Palo Alto, Fortinet).
• Proven network security implementation in at least two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with Palo Alto NGFW features including TLS inspection, User identification, WildFire, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, GlobalProtect.
• Experience in automation using Ansible, Terraform, or Python.
• Experience managing large-scale, diverse security environments.
• Experience in regulated industries such as Pharmaceuticals or Healthcare is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Expert knowledge of Palo Alto and/or Fortinet platforms.
• Experience with specialized DDoS protection services (e.g., Akamai, Cloudflare, F5).
• Proficiency in ZTNA and SASE frameworks (e.g., Zscaler, Prisma Access).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking components (VPCs, VNETs, Transit Gateways, Cloud Firewalls).
• Deep knowledge of protocols such as BGP, OSPF, DNS, TLS/SSL.

Nice to have:

• Vendor certifications: Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto Networks PCNSA/PCNSE, Cisco CCNP Security.
• Cybersecurity certification: CISSP.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) proficiency with Terraform, GitHub.
• Scripting skills in Python or Go for API integrations.
• Familiarity with governance frameworks: NIST, ISO 27001, FAIR.

Edge Architecture & Engineering:

• Lead deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Next-Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), ensuring high availability and optimal inspection performance globally.
• Architect and implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions with granular application-level access.
• Engineer and manage cloud-native security controls within AWS, Azure, and GCP for consistent multi-cloud security posture.
• Design DDoS protection strategies and automated threat prevention policies (SSL decryption, IPS/IDS).

Product Lifecycle & Evolution:

• Oversee delivery of Edge solutions from design through build, rollout, and continuous optimization.
• Identify trends in Edge computing and SASE to inform product roadmap.

Operational Excellence & Visibility:

• Lead network security escalations, perform deep-packet analysis and root-cause investigations.
• Develop monitoring dashboards and telemetry for real-time visibility.
• Manage security policies as code, improve automation workflows and cross-platform orchestration.
• Build and maintain automation and self-service enablement tools.
