Sr Software QA Engineer

IQVIA is a leading global provider of clinical research services, commercial insights and healthcare intelligence to the life sciences and healthcare industries. The Systems Engineering team is part of the Global Technology Organisation (GTO). The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites for ETL pipelines and complex data processing workflows in the healthcare domain.

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software testing.
• Experience with test automation tools like Robot Framework.
• Programming languages: intermediate Python, advanced SQL, familiarity with Java/ Scala beneficial.
• Experience with database technologies including Oracle, Databricks, Hive, Impala, or similar big data platforms.
• Version control experience with Git, GitHub/GitLab workflows, and branch management.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Experience with distributed data processing using Spark and Databricks ecosystem.
• Knowledge of dimensional data modeling, including slowly changing dimensions (SCD), and star schemas.
• Skills in test planning and strategy development.
• Test case design skills for complex data workflows.
• Defect tracking and management experience (e.g., JIRA).
• Experience with container technologies like Docker and basic container orchestration.
• Ability to present complex results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating with teams from Europe and understanding of cross-cultural communication.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, written, and verbal skills.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project management concepts.
• A team player mindset.

• Oversee and guide junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical direction and mentoring.
• Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring clarity of expectations and alignment with delivery goals.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using Robot Framework for ETL pipelines and data processing workflows.
• Extend Robot Framework libraries and keywords; create custom test utilities for healthcare-specific data validation.
• Integrate tests with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins and GitLab CI, for pipeline testing and data quality validation.
• Conduct integration testing for complex data workflows involving Spark, BPMN orchestration (Camunda), and JDBC imports; validate complex business rules.
• Collaborate with architects and systems engineers; contribute to technical standards.
