Senior Software Engineer, Flume ML

Google Cloud is developing next-generation technologies impacting billions of users, focusing on areas including AI, natural language processing, distributed computing, and data storage. The position is within the Flume ML team in Warsaw, which manages global data processing infrastructure that supports machine learning features across Alphabet products like YouTube and Search, as well as AI initiatives. The infrastructure is designed to be scalable, cost-effective, easy to use, ecosystem-enabling, and compliant. This role involves guiding product direction and advancing scheduleability and autotuning optimizations for data processing workloads.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Experience with coding and software design.

Nice to have:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience designing and implementing Machine Learning (ML) architectures.
• Experience with data structures and algorithms.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
• Address technical issues that require significant expertise or span multiple systems and stakeholders.
• Work with mission-critical customers on their schedulability issues.
• Analyze performance data and design data-driven solutions.
• Promote a team environment by mentoring engineers and contributing to organizational success.
