Software Engineer III, Google Kubernetes Engine Autoscaling

Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) is a managed, production-ready environment for deploying containerized applications. It brings innovations in developer productivity, resource efficiency, automated operations, and open source flexibility. The team focuses on improving Google Kubernetes Engine performance and cost efficiency, strengthening its position in the OSS ecosystem by externalizing core autoscaling technologies. Google Cloud delivers enterprise-grade solutions leveraging Google's cutting-edge technology to enable digital transformation for customers in over 200 countries and territories.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields preferred.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 2 years of experience building or managing distributed systems or cloud infrastructure, focusing on Kubernetes.
• 2 years of coding experience in Go.
• 2 years of experience testing, maintaining, and launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices such as style guidelines, testability, and efficiency.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt it based on product updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues, debug, track, and resolve problems impacting hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
