Senior Software Engineer (Python + AWS)

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Python, including Lambda Powertools, pytest/pytest-bdd, and writing clean, testable code in a monorepo context
• Deep knowledge of AWS services: Lambda, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB, and IAM with an ability to reason about cost, latency, and failure modes

Strong Plus:

• Experience with GraphQL / AppSync including schema design, resolvers, and consuming AppSync from a React client
• Familiarity with React + TypeScript in a Vite/Cloudscape SPA environment
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, including reading, writing, and debugging multi-stack configurations
• Experience with Databricks or similar large-scale data processing platforms
• Knowledge of clinical data standards (CDISC SDTM, ADaM) or regulated-industry software development experience (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11)
• Good grasp of event-driven and distributed system patterns such as fan-out/fan-in, idempotency, and at-least-once delivery

• Design and extend the SDTM transformation engine using AWS Step Functions orchestration, Lambda workers, and Databricks write paths
• Build and evolve the GraphQL/AppSync API and the React frontend used by analysts to author mapping specifications
• Own infrastructure-as-code changes across service Terraform stacks and shared infrastructure
• Participate in code review, architecture discussions, and on-call rotation
• Mentor engineers newer to the stack or clinical data domain
