Radio Channel Emulation System Architect

Join our 4G/5G/6G RAN Simulation Services System Team in Poland. The team shapes an internally developed radio channel emulator capable of emulating RF radio channel conditions in a fully digital test environment to verify RAN solutions without real radios or over-the-air channels.

• Understanding of 4G/5G NR radio and PHY/L1 including OFDM, modulation/coding, HARQ, reference signals like SSB, CSI RS, DMRS, channel estimation/equalization, link adaptation (CQI/RI/PMI), and power control; familiarity with FR1/FR2, FDD/TDD, and deployment scenarios.
• Knowledge of radio propagation and channel modelling including pathloss, shadowing, delay spread, multipath fading, Doppler, interference, spatial correlation, and their effects on throughput, BLER, coverage, and MIMO gains; experience or theoretical knowledge of 3GPP channel models (TDL/CDL).
• Experience with MIMO and beamforming techniques including SU/MU MIMO, massive MIMO, analog/digital/hybrid beamforming; working with antenna arrays, beams, channel matrices, and precoding weights.
• Competence in digital signal processing for communications including filtering, FFT, time frequency transforms, channel convolution, noise modelling, SNR/SINR; implementation or analysis of PHY algorithms such as channel estimation, equalization, detection, combining.
• System level RAN understanding including gNB DU–RU split, fronthaul basics (CPRI/eCPRI), end-to-end UE–DU–RU interaction, and channel emulation impacts.
• Analytical and communication skills to translate feature requirements into test/channel scenarios, lead technical discussions across RAN system, PHY, and test teams, and produce structured documentation and presentations.

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of 5G RAN studies using the Digital Channel Emulator (idea, design, execution, documentation, hand over).
• Define study objectives, scenarios, KPIs, and acceptance criteria with product management, system architects, and line leadership.
• Analyze study results, identify performance bottlenecks, and propose optimizations for the digital channel emulator and connected simulators.
• Collaborate with system, software, and test engineers to ensure study outcomes feed into requirements, architecture, and implementation.
• Prepare clear reports and presentations, including recommendations and risk/impact assessments.
• Ensure compliance with Ericsson quality, documentation, and traceability standards.

Work in hybrid model, minimum 3 days from office required.
