Senior Staff Engineer, AI Developer, Platform

Google develops next-generation technologies impacting billions of users beyond web search. The AI Developer Platform supports multiple interfaces and partners, focusing on developer tool productivity and AI innovation across industries.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role, including setting technical direction, owning design and architecture, mentoring engineers, and guiding project execution.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in writing high-quality Go, Java, Python code.
• Experience with API design, multi-tenancy, containerization, and security in cloud environments.
• Ability to produce clean, well thought out designs.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).

• Own the overall design, architecture, and implementation strategies for AI Developer Platform, ensuring alignment with the mission to enhance developer productivity.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and Partner teams to define the goals and drive the strategic roadmap.
• Guide the team through technical choices, balancing short-term needs versus long-term strategic goals.
• Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies and approaches.
• Establish and maintain high technical standards, ensuring code quality, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Set the technical direction, help plan deliverables and milestones and drive execution.
• Identify and proactively address technical issues and risks, and propose effective solutions to advance the team's velocity and impact on developer tooling.
