Mid-Level Python & API Automation Test Engineer – IAM & Cloud Projects

Our client is a leading player in global banking transforming its Identity & Access Management (IAM) infrastructure, focusing on secure, scalable identity solutions across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in a hybrid work model based in Krakow.

• At least 2 years of practical experience in backend automation testing with Python and Pytest.
• Solid understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts.
• Experience testing API-driven services (REST) with tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
• Knowledge of event-driven systems including Pub/Sub, queues, and Kafka, and batch processing flows.
• Familiarity with identity protocols and data formats like SCIM, LDAP, OIDC, REST API, and CSV.
• Understanding of policy-based access models (RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC, PBAC).
• Experience using JIRA and Zephyr for test management and defect lifecycle.
• Exposure to CI/CD practices, automation within pipelines, and cloud testing, especially GCP; additional AWS/Azure knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with consumer-driven contract testing.
• Knowledge of policy-as-code tools like OPA/Rego.
• Exposure to GraphDB (Neo4j), orchestration tools (n8n), and containerised testing.
• Performance testing experience with tools like JMeter, Gatling, or NeoLoad.
• Familiarity with GitOps, HashiCorp Vault, SPIFFE/SPIRE, and governance controls.

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing documentation aligned with technical specifications and requirements.
• Support the definition and maintenance of test entry and exit criteria for assigned components or workstreams.
• Ensure traceability of functional and non-functional requirements, maintaining up-to-date evidence for audit and regulatory purposes.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to define SIT, OAT, and UAT scenarios, producing relevant test artefacts.
• Build, maintain, and improve automated backend test scripts using Python and Pytest, focusing on API and integration testing.
• Validate event-driven systems such as Pub/Sub, queues, and Kafka, including replay/reprocessing scenarios and data integrity assessments.
• Verify functions and decision logic defined as code, including policy-as-code frameworks.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration, ensuring automated tests are executed effectively, with reports generated and results communicated.
• Create and manage synthetic and anonymised test data to support repeatable automated testing.
• Track defects, participate in triage meetings, verify fixes, and report progress, risks, and dependencies.
• Identify quality risks and suggest pragmatic process improvements.
• Collaborate within an Agile environment, promoting continuous enhancement of testing practices and quality standards.
