Mid-Level Payment Production Support Engineer – Global Payments Infrastructure

The role is with a leading provider of global payments infrastructure, focusing on maintaining and supporting high-volume payment systems in a financial technology environment. The position is based in Krakow with a hybrid work model and involves collaboration with a global organization.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in production support within financial or IT services.
• Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL.
• Proven experience in Linux system administration.
• At least 2 years’ experience with Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture.
• Skills in shell scripting (Bash, Python, Java) for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in English, spoken and written.
• Proven ability to triage issues under pressure and adapt quickly.
• Experience working within Agile/DevOps environments, supporting production systems.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the Payments industry.
• Hands-on knowledge of Python or Java programming.
• Familiarity with Puppet/Ansible or similar configuration management tools.
• Experience with AppDynamics and Splunk monitoring systems.

• Provide comprehensive day-to-day production support, including incident resolution and post-issue analysis.
• Investigate and identify root causes of major system problems to minimize downtime.
• Install and validate new software releases provided by vendors.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, Java, or Bash to streamline operations.
• Support testing phases for new implementations, ensuring stability and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across various locations to review, re-engineer, and enhance processes with new technologies.
• Design and lead initiatives to improve service offerings, technical capabilities, and operational efficiency.
• Utilize monitoring tools to analyze system architecture, performance, and data integrity, supporting data reconciliation activities.
• Contribute to team objectives by supporting or leading activities aligned with shared goals.
