Senior Network Security Engineer – Cloud and On-Premises Expertise

Our client is a global leader in banking and financial services, with a cybersecurity capability engineering team within HSBC.

• At least 10 years of experience in designing and implementing network segmentation strategies for on-premises, cloud, and container environments.
• Proficiency with firewall technologies such as Checkpoint, ASA, Illumio, and Guardicore in large environments.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and technologies including IDS, IPS, web application security, vulnerability scanners, and anti-malware systems.
• Hands-on experience with Linux administration and scripting in Python.
• Familiarity with agile practices such as Scrum, version control, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Excellent network troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to lead project delivery and drive product improvements.

Nice to have:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
• Experience with additional security tools and frameworks.

• Design and provision network security policies aligned with zero trust principles.
• Implement and maintain network segmentation technologies for on-premises, cloud, and container environments.
• Document network designs, procedures, and security standards.
• Conduct product evaluations and proof of concepts on emerging network security technologies.
• Collaborate with vendors on product issues including design, features, and defect resolution.
• Support deployment, testing, and maintenance of security agents using enterprise deployment tools.
• Troubleshoot complex network environments and provide detailed analysis and remediation.
• Coordinate with system areas and vendors for system planning, upgrades, and testing.
• Support regulatory compliance by implementing solutions meeting organizational and industry standards.
• Transfer knowledge via training sessions, team workshops, and mentoring.
• Improve detection capabilities and response strategies for cyber threats.
• Lead delivery of product enhancements ensuring timely and quality outcomes.
