Go Developer

Andersen is hiring a Go Developer for a project developing a global digital platform and delivering scalable backend solutions for the insurance and assistance industry. Our customer is an international organization operating in the financial and protection services domain, providing a diverse portfolio of customer-oriented solutions across multiple business areas. The project focuses on developing and enhancing a global digital platform supporting travel, automotive, health, and assistance services to improve customer experience and streamline business operations.

• Minimum 5 years of commercial development experience, including at least 3 years with Go in production.
• Higher education in Computer Science or related field.
• Extensive experience working with AI and implementing or configuring it within teams.
• Experience in fintech or banking domains and complex integrations.
• Strong proficiency in concurrency concepts in Go (goroutines, channels) and designing microservice architectures using gRPC.
• Experience with containerizing and deploying backend services.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka for event-driven asynchronous communication.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Practical experience writing unit and integration tests for backend services.
• Experience instrumenting services with Grafana and Prometheus for metrics collection, monitoring, and alerting.
• Experience designing scalable, highly available systems for high-throughput, real-time workloads.
• Active participation in code reviews with focus on quality and knowledge sharing.
• Ownership mindset with responsibility for backend components lifecycle.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of fault-tolerant system design, idempotency, SLA considerations, and service reliability.
• English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate level or higher.

Nice to have:

• Prior experience in insurance or other regulated domains.
• Familiarity with data privacy and compliance standards (GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Understanding of core insurance concepts such as policies, underwriting, and claims lifecycle.

• Building and evolving a real-time cross-selling platform, managing real-time data flows and business logic for personalized insurance offers.
• Owning the backend that powers multiple user-facing apps, advancing the gRPC-based microservice architecture.
• Designing and maintaining REST/gRPC APIs for integration with insurance core platforms and third-party services such as risk scoring, KYC, and payments.
• Working with PostgreSQL to model and manage transactional data including policies, claims, and customer records with audit trails.
• Implementing event-driven workflows using RabbitMQ or Kafka to handle claims events, policy updates, and notifications.
• Writing and maintaining unit and integration tests, focusing on monetary calculations and claims/premium accuracy.
• Instrumenting services with Grafana and Prometheus to monitor critical flows and proactively detect issues.
• Actively participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality code and platform standards.
• Taking proactive responsibility for platform design and development with emphasis on scalability, availability, and resilience.
• Collaborating with Business Analysts, QA, and DevOps teams within an Agile/Scrum framework.
• Contributing to architectural decisions balancing flexibility, maintainability, and fault tolerance.
