Senior Software Engineer, Vertex 1P GenAI SRE

Vertex 1P GenAI Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team focuses on artificial intelligence, Generative AI, and machine learning platforms at Google Cloud, supporting the Vertex GenAI platform which enables building, deploying, and scaling ML models faster with pre-trained and custom tooling.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years experience with data structures, algorithms, and software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• 2 years experience leading projects and providing technical leadership.
• Preferred: experience with Google scale production systems, compute infrastructure support, software engineering in C++, Python, GCL, Go, APIs.
• Knowledge of networking, capacity, performance, large-scale system architecture, and complex system integrations or migrations.

• Improve and ensure reliability of Vertex AI products and services.
• Develop and influence scalable and sustainable system architecture and designs.
• Help define strategy and set direction for Vertex AI services to increase reliability and efficiency.
• Lead efforts to adopt infrastructure and standards (e.g., P2020, Cloud Horizontals) for Vertex AI.
• Resolve outages or service disruptions and design solutions to prevent recurrence.
