Senior Platform Engineer

XM operates as a technology company focusing on pushing cloud services to their maximum limits using cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative DevOps culture.

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline
• 7+ years’ experience in cloud (AWS), release pipeline management, Windows Server and Linux administration, certificate management
• Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell, Bash, and Python
• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform)
• Strong networking skills including DNS management
• Enterprise-level experience with Kubernetes and solid Linux administration skills
• Focus on continuous improvement, observability, modern application architectures, blue-green/canary deployments, and CI/CD pipeline management
• Ability to self-motivate, learn emerging technologies, and meet business deadlines
• Experience with tools including Istio, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, MSK, New Relic

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with database concepts
• Experience with at least one cloud provider (preferably AWS)
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Apache Kafka and ELK
• Additional scripting skills in Go

• Initiate and drive adoption of good development and operations patterns and technologies
• Investigate and identify automation opportunities
• Monitor and improve CI/CD processes for speed, safety, and reliability
• Develop and maintain GitLab CI pipeline libraries
• Assist developers with CI/CD setups and troubleshoot issues
• Stay updated with industry tools and trends
• Provide senior-level recommendations and implementations for Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes hosting environments
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance
• Educate teams about the platforms used and hosted by the team, including GitLab, Docker, AWS, Terraform, Istio Service Mesh, Kubernetes, Kafka, ELK
• Collaborate with the Security team to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure security compliance
• Offer related services and projects to any company of the group as instructed by management
