GCP Data Engineer

Hays IT Contracting offers B2B collaboration, connecting IT specialists with technology projects. The role supports a strategic project for migrating a data warehouse from Oracle to Google Cloud Platform within the food industry.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer
• Experience with Oracle (PL/SQL) including procedures, functions, and packages
• Experience with GCP (BigQuery, Dataform)
• Experience in data warehouse migration and ETL development
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling
• Practical skills with code repositories (Git, Bitbucket, Azure Repos)
• Experience integrating diverse data sources
• English language proficiency at minimum B2 level

Nice to have:

• Experience with Tableau
• Experience with SAP or SAP BW
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Migration and modernization of Oracle solutions to GCP (BigQuery, Dataform)
• Designing, developing, and optimizing ETL processes and data models
• Implementing business logic and new functionalities in GCP
• Optimizing queries and data system performance
• Collaborating with business and technology teams (in Scrum)
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring data quality
• Implementing security and compliance standards
• Mentoring less experienced team members
