Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering, Google Cloud

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) at Google Cloud combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems ensuring service reliability and uptime. The Technical Infrastructure team supports Google’s data centers, networks, and platform infrastructure that enable Google’s product portfolio.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• 2 years of experience leading projects and providing technical leadership.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

• Engage in and improve the whole life-cycle of services from inception to refinement.
• Support services pre-launch via system design consulting, platform development, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
• Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and system health.
• Scale systems sustainably through automation and advocate for reliability improvements.
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
