Senior Data Architect – insurance (f/m/x)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect to join a team and lead the design and development of data solutions for a transformation program for a client in the insurance sector. The role is based in Warsaw with a hybrid work model (1 day a week from office).

• Minimum 7 years of experience in IT, including 3–5 years in Tech Lead, Lead Developer or Data Engineering Lead roles
• Experience designing and building data platforms in enterprise environments
• Previous work implementing core insurance systems for claims and benefits handling (EIS or Guidewire)
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and integration design
• Knowledge of Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
• Practical experience with data platforms based on Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Event Hub
• Very good knowledge of SQL and technologies for processing large volumes of data
• Experience applying CI/CD practices, DevOps, and deployment automation
• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and data security issues
• Experience in technically leading teams and coordinating development work
• High independence and responsibility in technical decisions
• Fluent Polish

Nice to have:

• Previous work with AI/ML and preparing data for AI-based solutions
• Experience in designing event-driven architectures
• Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect certifications
• Knowledge of Data Mesh concepts and Domain-Driven Design (DDD)

• Designing and developing the technical architecture of the data platform
• Defining architectural, design, and implementation standards
• Making key technological decisions regarding the data platform
• Coordinating technical team efforts and supporting team members in problem-solving
• Conducting architectural reviews, code reviews, and quality assurance activities
• Overseeing the construction and development of Silver and Gold data layers
• Ensuring data quality, consistency, availability, and security
• Defining and developing data products used for reporting, analytics, and AI solutions
• Collaborating with architects, analysts, Product Owners, and project teams
• Participating in estimations, work planning, and resolving technical issues
