Tech Lead Senior Engineer Embedded SW 5G

Ericsson is the market leader in connectivity, working with advanced 5G broadband wireless technology. The Krakow RAN Performance organization specializes in systemizing, designing, implementing, and testing software 5G features for one of the most complex embedded products: the 5G baseband SW. The role involves working within the baseband scheduler department focusing on the 5G UPC product, aiming to evolve 5G and beyond.

• Hands-on experience and knowledge in C/C++ programming
• At least 5 years' experience in development of real-time embedded systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• General programming skills (e.g., Python) are an advantage
• Knowledge of 5G and LTE (4G) standards (3GPP) is an advantage
• Clean code programming style and mindset
• Experience in defining product architecture or complex implementation proposals is appreciated
• Experience with AI-powered developer tools (e.g., AI code assistants, automated code review, AI-driven testing or debugging tools) in daily software development workflow
• MSc/Bsc level in a technical subject area or equivalent knowledge
• Good English language skills in both writing and conversation
• Keen interest in the long-term evolution and success of the Baseband SW product
• Ability to work in teamwork within a global organization

• Support teams in developing new features for the 5G RAN
• Work with UPC SW architecture changes to prepare for the feature's roadmap
• Review design solutions prior to implementation
• Participate and approve strategic/complex code reviews
• Define and maintain product development strategy and architecture integrity
• Work on improving general quality of Scheduler
• Drive domain module, submodule, and function level test strategy
• Maintain, define, and prioritize UPC domain care backlog
• Participate and support system studies
• Support longer-term prototyping and architecture initiatives

Work in a hybrid model with 3 days per week in the office in Kraków, Poland.
