Senior Platform Engineer

AVENGA is recruiting for an international client, seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and operate shared Kafka and database platform capabilities.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native platform engineering concepts
• Practical experience operating or developing for Kafka, PostgreSQL, YugaByteDB, or other stateful distributed systems
• Solid understanding of reliability engineering, observability, incident response, and safe production change
• Experience building automation or self-service tooling improving developer experience and reducing operational toil
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to balance technical depth with pragmatic delivery
• Strong software engineering skills with experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

• Build and operate shared Kafka, PostgreSQL, YugaByteDB, and other stateful platform components in a controlled and well-tested manner
• Deliver changes to stateful platform components safely and reliably
• Build self-service platform capabilities through Kubernetes-native interfaces, automation, and reusable tooling
• Improve developer experience by simplifying provisioning and reducing ticket-driven workflows
• Design and implement solutions to improve resilience, security, scalability, and operational safety for stateful workloads
• Investigate incidents, performance issues, and capacity risks, transforming findings into durable platform improvements

Nice to have:

• Experience building Kubernetes operators or controllers, ideally in Go
• Familiarity with AWS managed data services such as RDS and Aurora

Candidates need to visit Warsaw twice a month (hybrid work mode)
