Senior Engineering Manager

Our client is a fast-scaling B2B AI start-up building reliable, scalable products for finance teams. They focus on AI Agents that improve finance team operations at scale with governance and measurable outcomes.

• Proven experience managing a distributed engineering team, setting goals, and developing technical talent, with a strong software engineering background.
• Strong experience with modern software engineering, familiar with Python and TypeScript.
• Experience delivering production-grade software at scale, with understanding of cloud-native architecture, APIs, databases, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Positive, pragmatic mindset with ownership and commercial awareness to support business growth.
• Embraces innovation and use of AI tools to improve engineering productivity and customer outcomes.

Nice to have:

• Experience in finance, accounts receivable, payments, credit, ERP systems, or workflow automation.

• Lead, coach, and develop a distributed team of 6 to 10 engineers, fostering ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Product and Implementation teams to translate customer needs into technical plans and drive agile delivery practices.
• Act as primary contact for Customer Success, Sales, and implementation requests, managing triage, estimation, and configuration scoping.
• Own QA and release processes end-to-end to ensure reliable shipping and defect prevention.
• Collaborate with CTO and leadership to scale engineering organization, team structure, and operating rhythm.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development as the team expands.
