Software Engineer III, Google Cloud, Dataform

Google Cloud delivers enterprise-grade solutions leveraging Google's technology to help organizations digitally transform their business globally. The role is part of the Google Cloud team working on the Dataform product, focusing on backend service development and platform enhancement.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling backend services, APIs, and data infrastructure.
• Experience with Kotlin, Java, Scala, or Go.
• Experience in Data Analytics and ETL tools.
• Experience debugging complex issues, improving platform stability and security, and writing testable, maintainable code.
• Understanding of back-end architecture, distributed systems concepts, database/storage solutions, and system performance tuning.

• Design and implement backend APIs, services, and core capabilities for Dataform to deliver new features and enhance platform functionality.
• Scope, design, and drive technical solutions to address infrastructure bottlenecks and continuously enhance platform security and stability.
• Partner with front-end teams and Google Cloud service owners on API and system designs.
• Build scalable code management and pipeline orchestration solutions powering Dataform and Google Cloud platform capabilities.
• Participate in monitoring, debugging, and production support including on-call rotations to maintain system health and enable reliable releases.
