Senior Database Administrator – Enterprise RDBMS Expertise

You will be working for a client who is a leader in the financial industry, supporting the design, build, and management of mission-critical database systems across the Global Private Bank and Wealth estate. The position is based in Krakow with a hybrid work model.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with enterprise RDBMS such as Oracle (RMAN, Data Guard, RAC, Exadata), DB2, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Ability to rapidly learn and adopt new database technologies.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, and Ansible.
• Strong understanding of IT operations, including incident and change management.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical topics.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines including out-of-hours support.

Nice to have:

• Experience with cloud database platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure, and Ali Cloud.

• Lead and deliver infrastructure initiatives such as platform upgrades, standardization, and estate hygiene.
• Build and manage database environments supporting cloud and on-premises deployments.
• Assess and deploy security patches and critical updates to ensure compliance and risk management.
• Evaluate emerging database technologies, develop proof-of-concepts, and support their adoption.
• Provide consultancy on database design, resilience, performance, backup/recovery, and operational readiness.
• Produce documentation including standards, procedures, and runbooks.
• Report progress and risks to management.
• Support change and incident activities, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and on-call participation.
