Data Science PhD Intern, 2027

Google's data scientists work within the Software Engineering organization supporting Search, YouTube, and Google Ads. They analyze data sets and run live experiments to drive critical decisions and support the development of innovative, scalable, next-generation technologies through research and advanced analysis.

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, operations research, or related technical field involving experimental design and quantitative analysis, in penultimate year of study.
• Experience working with datasets using Python, R, SAS, or MATLAB.
• Experience with statistical data analysis methods (e.g., linear models, hypothesis testing, multi-level models, Bayesian methods).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with causal inference methods.
• Experience developing intellectual capital such as peer-reviewed publications.
• Ability to complete a 13-week internship in Poland starting May-July 2027.

• Provide research on topics including Google's business model and search techniques.
• Produce quantitative and qualitative modeling of business dynamics, user behavior, and more.
• Identify areas for further investigation and create innovative methods of analysis.

• Internship only for students enrolled in an accredited full-time PhD program in the EMEA region.
• Candidates must be located in Poland for the duration of the internship.
