ML/MLOps Engineer in Germany

Andersen is hiring an ML/MLOps Engineer for a project building a cloud-native AI platform and delivering scalable machine learning solutions for the healthcare industry. The customer is a European service provider operating in the healthcare sector, delivering consulting, digital solutions, data-driven services, and operational support to improve healthcare organizations' efficiency and service quality. The project focuses on building a cloud-native MLOps platform supporting large-scale machine learning and AI workloads using Kubeflow, enabling LLM fine-tuning, traditional machine learning, and scalable data processing within a secure, zero-trust environment.

• 5+ years of experience as a MLOps Engineer / ML Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Kubeflow Pipelines (KFP v2).
• Experience training models on GPUs.
• Experience fine-tuning LLMs/transformers.
• Experience with MLflow for model tracking.
• Experience with boosting models such as XGBoost and CatBoost.
• Proficiency in the Python ecosystem and modern engineering practices.
• Experience in regulated or enterprise cloud-native environments.
• Experience with SQL and large-scale data processing.
• Experience with CI/CD (preferably GitLab CI), clean code, and testing practices.
• English language proficiency at Intermediate+ level or above.
• German language proficiency at Intermediate+ level or above.

Nice to have:

• Experience with pre-training of LLMs beyond fine-tuning.
• Experience with GPU orchestration in Kubernetes.
• Experience in zero-trust environments (network policies, restrictive container rights).
• Knowledge of DuckDB.
• Experience with modern Python tooling (based on uv).

• Build and orchestrate ML pipelines using Kubeflow Pipelines (KFP v2).
• Train models on GPUs, including GPU resource management in Kubernetes.
• Fine-tune transformers/LLMs and track experiments and models via MLflow.
• Develop classic ML models using XGBoost and CatBoost.
• Work with data using SQL Server and DuckDB for efficient in-cluster large dataset processing.
• Develop in Python (pipelines, integrations, tooling based on uv).
• Ensure code quality with testing and CI/CD practices (using GitLab CI).
• Operate within a secure zero-trust environment enforcing network policies and restrictive container rights.
