Software Test Engineer

OBI Smart Technologies is a joint venture between OBI and Reply Group. The company co-designs, builds, and operates mission-critical digital platforms for commerce, customer service, and omnichannel retail. Their mission is to implement standardized processes and scalable digital products supporting one of Europe’s largest DIY retailers by advancing internationalization and digital capabilities.

• Completed university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related technical field
• 3+ years of experience in software testing within agile software development teams
• Strong hands-on experience with manual and exploratory testing
• Initial experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Selenium or similar
• Programming experience in TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Python, or C# sufficient to develop and maintain automated tests
• Experience with REST API testing using tools like Postman, Bruno, Charles Proxy or similar
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g. Git) is a plus
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with fluent English and Polish
• Openness to work in hybrid model and visit the Katowice office

• Perform functional, regression, and exploratory manual testing of iOS and Android mobile applications and backend services
• Investigate, reproduce, and document defects with technical details
• Analyze logs, network traffic, and API responses to isolate root causes
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for critical user journeys and regression scenarios
• Contribute to automation frameworks, coding standards, and best practices
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Owners, and Designers throughout the development lifecycle
• Support developers during feature implementation and validation
• Define acceptance criteria and test strategies for new features
• Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation and tooling
• Evolve quality engineering practices towards an automation-first approach

The candidate is expected to work in a hybrid model and visit the office in Katowice. Fluent communication skills in English and Polish are required.
