Site Reliability Engineer

AVENGA is an international company looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Site Reliability squad. The role involves collaboration throughout the company and requires two days per month presence in the Warsaw office.

• Ability to build and maintain services in Java with a specialism in operational performance of Java microservices
• Broad experience in running Java based microservices including database queries, measuring, debugging, and improving service performance
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers throughout the company to understand and resolve operational challenges
• Willingness to provide training and develop other engineers

• Improve availability, latency, performance, and efficiency of software on the platform
• Split time evenly between writing code and working with product-aligned squads
• Create functionality for product squads to run their services meeting engineering standards (e.g., logging)
• Suggest performance improvements for running microservices, including more efficient or performant database queries and ways to reduce response and processing times
• Provide training on microservice performance and run mock incidents and game days

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud native platforms
• Experience driving adoption of modern observability patterns and tooling
• Experience working with message-driven architectures and event sourcing

Two days per month presence from the Warsaw office is required.
